State Emergency Services said it responded to 20 calls for roof repairs and sandbagging in Rocklea, Hawthorn, Wavell and Northgate. Homes in Redcliffe and Bribie Island also suffered wind damage. The storm moved up from New South Wales and hit Brisbane about 2am (AEST) on Friday. The heaviest rainfalls were in Calamvale and Bulimba, with 83 millimetres recorded in an hour. Police have warned motorists to be careful on wet roads this morning and not to cross flooded causeways or roadways.
The storm has now moved north, off the Sunshine Coast.
